Day 20: Ierapetra,🙂, 23°,🌞⛅️

Too Pooped To Post!

Morning Sunrise!

A short night of sleep last night as I woke very early at 4:15 and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I plugged in my earbuds and watched the BC provincial election returns on YouTube. The outcome wasn’t very surprising, but the size of the NDP loss was. One of the political goofs of the past century. Cons 64 seats, NDP 27. I guess a snap election call halfway through a 4-year mandate wasn’t such a good idea, right? Oh well. Perhaps the next group of politicians can do a better job for the province. One thing that they will have learned is to not pull an Eby!

Our host told us at breakfast that day light savings time ended last night and the clocks were turned back an hour. I suddenly realized why it seemed like I’d woken so early this morning!😂

That said, I think I will take today off from blogging. It was a fun drive east which required a bit of focus. As it’s likely raining tomorrow I’ll write that story up then. The post is already started, but I fell asleep and now it’s time for dinner!

Later:

Dinner was very good!

Pomegranate Salad with the pomegranates from the tree in their backyard!

This was followed by a walk to the waterfront to sort of help dinner settle.

Not bad for a moon shot through a light cover of cloud.

As I mentioned, the weather is going to deteriorate a bit over the next couple of days. These were issued late today.

We checked the weather on the north coast of Crete and it’s worse there and terrible on the mainland with lots more rain and a potential flood risk. So we will figure out our plan for the coming week tomorrow.

This is for my grandson Avery. His favourite bird. I carried a matching metal bird for him across my last Camino attached to my pack thinking my walk might interest him that way. Not sure it worked? I carried one for each of the four kids!

Cheers!
