Day 15: Phuket, Hot, +33°

It’s Going To Be A Brilliant Day!🌞🌞🌞

We got ourselves going this morning a bit slowly and then it was off to find breakfast in a new culture and country. Endless fun happening here!

We walked the huge street market last night in the dark and this morning we really had no idea about the lay of the land. This meant a search for a breakfast place which we eventually found in the old town. Exactly where the night market was happening.

Last night.
Same spot. They must have worked late to get everything cleaned up after the night market!
Twinnings tea!

We found a NOT VERY traditional Thai place to eat that was full of Europeans. A great many Europeans here. 😏

We hadn’t eaten too much last night and a breakfast like this was perfect as we were going to be out until about 21:00.

After breakfast we went for a wander through the old town. Many of the shops have lots of tourist stuff, and because we don’t want to purchase anything yet we haven’t been looking at all.

It didn’t take long to find a few temples. The first one was a Buddhist shrine which was lively and colourful.

Lots of action photos with people taking vast numbers of photos of themselves every where we go. It’s a mystery to me why, but there is clearly a reason I must be missing. At some point I’m going to ask someone.🙂

There were also commercial shoots going on as well. These I understand a bit better.

We visited the local fish market. It was small, attached to a motor bike, but interesting.

At the end of an alley in the distance I spotted an interesting looking roof line that could only belong to a Buddhist temple, a wat as I believe they are referred to.

It was beautifully decorated. We could only view this one from the outside.

Classic.
And back out one of the gates.

We stopped in at our new favourite 7-Eleven to stock up on breakfast supplies for tomorrow and to buy a couple of things for today. We have an early ferry tomorrow and there won’t be time for anything else.

We have a small group speed boat tour going out this afternoon at 14:00 which will get us home after 21:00, and with some luck I might get to put a few photos in before I post this. We have a few quieter island days ahead, and AM tells me that she’s ready for them. A chance to recharge batteries before heading onwards. But first out onto the water! I’m excited!!

Later:

An excellent afternoon and evening on the water. It’s almost 23:00 here and AM is already sleeping. I have masses of photos and videos to go through, so I’m going to post about our trip on the Indian Ocean in the next day or so. A very early morning tomorrow, but I will leave you with a couple of photos.

Good night from Thailand!
